BSPD is glad to launch BSPD Carnatic Bhakthi Sangeetha Sabha(CBSS), which is a platform for qualified members to perform Carnatic style Bhakthi Sangeetham. This will be a periodic event and has a nominal qualifying criteria to perform.
The performance criteria are as follows :
1) Only krithis of Carnatic composers should be sung. These include but not limited to Bhaktha Ramadasu, Purandhara Dasu, Annamayya, Thyagaraja Swamy, Mutthuswamy Deekshithar, Syama Sastry, Swathi Thirunal, Harikesa Nallur, Muttiah Bhagavathar, Mysore Vasudevachar, Patnam Subbayyar, Balamurali Krishna and other composers.
2) Depending on the number of participants, performance duration will be decided and communicated appropriately.
3) No Raga Alapana/Swara Kalpana and Neravu are allowed.
4) Violin and Mridangam accompaniments are not mandatory due to COVID restrictions. However, it is upto the main performer to arrange for accompaniments as required.
5) No renumeration will be paid by BSPD. This should be seen as an opportunity to perform.
6) These concerts will be hosted Online using platforms like Zoom, YouTube, Facebook etc. unless there is an exception.
7) Interested performers must fill a pre-determined form to register their intent to perform in this event.
8) Performers must maintain a good standard of performance.
